Lollibop - The Big Bash for Little People (and the bigger ones)

If you’ve got kids aged 10 and under, get yourself to Lollibop this August. Forget Glastonbury, forget family-friendly Camp Bestival even – this is an amazing event for children, featuring everything from Thomas & Friends to CBBC presenter Andy Day (a favourite of the mums) and all sorts inbetween.

We’ve been to the last couple of Lollbop festivals in London and we’re delighted that the event is coming to Hertfordshire. It’s taking place at the beautiful Hatfield House grounds on August 15^th, 16^th and 17^th).

Ticket prices start from £20 (with children under 12 months free) for each day and it’s well worth the money. Once you’re inside, all entertainment and activities are free – even the face painting – and the event is open from 10am till 6pm.

From experience, your kids will LOVE it. You will too, if you enjoy joining in, having fun and (in my case) meeting the semi-frightening Titan the Robot. If you start to flag, there’s even the Adult Creche, where you can grab a swift beer or wine (we may or may not have done this...).

The programme this year is awesome. Highlights include Justin Fletcher (God bless him), Andy Day’s Live Show (I’ll be heading over for that one…), Lazy Town Live, Michaela Strachan’s Really Wild Adventure Shows (one for the dads), Horrible Histories: Ruthless Romans, Skylanders Trap Team and Thomas & Friends. Add to that Chris & Pui (Show Me, Show Me) and two Misters (Bloom and Maker), plus much, much more.
